She subsequently garnered praise for her performances in Imtiaz Ali's road movie Highway (2014) and the highly successful romantic drama 2 States (2014). Bhatt was born on 15 March 1993, to Indian film director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Her father is of primarily Gujarati descent and her mother is of Kashmiri-German ancestry.Bhatt has an elder sister, Shaheen (born 1988) and two half-siblings, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Actor Emraan Hashmi and director Mohit Suri are her paternal cousins, while producer Mukesh Bhatt is her uncle.



Career

Bhatt's first acting role was as a child artist in Sangharsh (1999), starring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta where she played the younger version of Zinta's character. She had her first leading role in 2012 with Karan Johar's Student of the Year, alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. She portrayed the role of Shanaya, a sophisticated teenage girl who is in a relationship with Dhawan's character but is attracted to the character played by Malhotra. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama wrote of her performance, "Alia's role is reminiscent of Kareena Kapoor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Stylish, classy, born with a silver spoon, she's someone who loves to flaunt not just her clothes and bags, but also her riches. Extremely photogenic, Alia makes a super-confident debut." Film critic Anupama Chopra of Hindustan Times also mentioned the similarities with Kapoor's character, but noted that her performance was "without the killer attitude." Student of the Year was a financial success, grossing INR700 million (US$11 million) domestically.

Bhatt next featured in Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala's joint production 2 States with Arjun Kapoor. An adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel of the same name, it narrates the story of two IIM Ahmedabad students who encounter trouble in convincing their parents to approve of their relationship. For her role as Ananya Swaminatham, a headstrong Tamil girl, she learnt the language. Critics were appreciative of her performance with Rediff.com publishing that Bhatt "really grows into the character and makes you believe that she's a career-oriented IIM-A grad."Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express added that Bhatt was a "surprise" and was "easy and fresh and natural." The film emerged as a major commercial success,earning over INR1 billion (US$16 million) in domestic ticket sales.Bhatt's final appearance that year was as Kavya Pratap Singh, a Punjabi girl who engages in a romantic affair with a stranger a few days prior to her wedding, in the romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Co-starring Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Shukla, the film was described as a tribute to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) by Johar, who served as producer.Writing for India Today, Rohit Khilnani thought that Bhatt had pitched in "one of her best performances so far", though Nandini Ramnath of Mint found her performance to be lacking in subtlety, writing that she was "more comfortable acting out her feelings through dialogue and actions".Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania also proved to be a box office hit.

Kapoor garnered praise and earned several Best Actress nominations (including Filmfare) for portraying a leading role in the successful romantic drama Raanjhanaa (2013). She also featured in the highly successful biographical sports film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013). Kapoor was born in the suburb of Chembur, Mumbai on 9 June 1985. She is the daughter of actor Anil Kapoor and ex-model Sunita Kapoor and the granddaughter of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor.The family moved to a house in the suburb of Juhu, where her parents still reside, when she was one month old.Kapoor is the eldest of three children; the others are sister Rhea Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan. She is the niece of producer Boney Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah. Producer Mona Shourie Kapoor and actress Sridevi are her aunts.She is also the first cousin of actor, Arjun Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and cousin of actor Ranveer Singh on her mother's side.
She attended the Arya Vidya Mandir school in Juhu and then enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia, a boarding school in Singapore, to do her International Baccalaureate.She studied theatre and arts in Singapore for 2 years.She speaks English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Marathi and is a well trained classical dancer.

Before starting her career off as an actress, Sonam and Ranbir Kapoor worked as assistant directors under Sanjay Leela Bhansali in 2004, and assisted him during the making of his film, Black which was released in early 2005.
As she was obese as a child, before making her acting debut, on Bhansali's request, Kapoor lost approx. 35 kg in order to appear fitter.She made her acting debut alongside newcomer Ranbir Kapoor in Bhansali's Saawariya, which released on November 9, 2007. Though the film failed to do well at the box office, her performance received mainly poisitive to mixed reviews by critics.Martin D'Souza, of GlamSham, said she "matches Ranbir, step for step" and called her a "gorgeous looker", and said she "carries off her role with aplomb". D'Souza also praised Kapoor's emotions and confidence, and said she was "born to act".Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama was a bit more critical however, saying, "Sonam Kapoor is an average actor. However, her role doesn't give her the opportunity to display histrionics. She looks gorgeous at places, but plain ordinary at times."
Though Kapoor had no release in 2008, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her performance in Saawariya. However she eventually lost out to actress Deepika Padukone, who won the award for Om Shanti Om, which, coincidentally was released alongside Saawariya.




In 2009, Kapoor appeared in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi-6, opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film flopped at the box office and received mixed critical reviews, but her performance received immense critical praise, and the film eventually acted as a turning point in her career. Critic Rajeev Masand commented, "Sonam Kapoor is the revelation in Delhi 6. As of September 2014, Kapoor has several projects in development. Kapoor is currently shooting for Arbaaz Khan's Dolly Ki Doli,where she will feature alongside Pulkit Samrat, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma, as a runaway bride.[64] In preparation for her role, Kapoor has attended acting workshops for the film, along with the rest of the cast.Kapoor has also began shooting for Sooraj R. Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, opposite Salman Khan,and has confirmed her presence in the film adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's novel, Battle For Bittora, opposite her Khoobsurat co-star Fawad Khan, which is currently in pre-production stages and is expected to begin filming in late 2014. Priyanka Chopra was born on 18 July 1982 in Jamshedpur, Bihar to Ashok and Madhu Chopra, both physicians in the Indian Army.Her father was Punjabi, while her mother is from Jharkhand.She has a brother, Siddharth, who is seven years her junior. Actress Parineeti Chopra, Meera Chopra and Barbie Handa are her cousins.Due to her parents' occupations the family relocated to a number of Indian cities, including Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, Bareilly, Ladakh, Chandigarh and Ambala. Acting career

One of the judges of the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel Contest in which Basu participated, Vinod Khanna, wanted to launch her alongside his son Akshaye Khanna in Himalay Putra, but she felt she was too young and declined the role, which eventually went to Anjala Zaveri. After returning home, she was convinced by Jaya Bachchan to star opposite her son Abhishek Bachchan in J. P. Dutta's Aakhari Mughal.However, the film was cancelled, and Dutta instead changed the script and made Refugee with Kareena Kapoor. Basu was also offered a role in Refugee opposite Sunil Shetty, which she declined.
In 2001, Basu finally made her debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Vijay Galani's Ajnabee. The film, directed by Abbas-Mustan, was inspired by the American film Consenting Adults. It was a moderate box-office success and attracted unfavorable reviews from critics.However, Basu's performance in a negative role was appreciated by critics and won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
In 2002, Basu starred in the year's most successful thriller, Raaz. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, it established Basu in the Hindi film industry. Her portrayal of a woman who is pursued by a spirit received positive reviews. One review in The Tribune noted, "... it is Bipasha Basu who steals the show with her fine performance."She was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for Raaz.She was appreciated in a supporting role in Sanjay Gadhvi's Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, a moderate critical and commercial success. However, in David Dhawan's Chor Machaaye Shor, was her first commercial failure. Her first release in 2009, Aa Dekhen Zara failed to do well at the box office.Rohit Shetty's All The Best: Fun Begins performed well and her comic role was appreciated by fans. Later that year, Basu surprised everybody with Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film, Shob Charitro Kalponik. "I love saris and I'm wearing a lot of them in Ritu's film," she said.She gave up her glamorous look and was praised by critics for her performance. Critic Subhash K. Jha spoke high of her. He said, "Bipasha Basu pulls out all stops to deliver her career's best performance. Sinha also received critical praise for her performance in Lootera (2013), for which she was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Sinha was born on 2 June 1987, to actors Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She is the youngest of three children with twin brothers, Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha. Her family belongs to Malik tribes.Sonakshi completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir in Mumbai and graduated in Fashion Designing from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

Acting career

Sinha started her career as a costume designer, designing the costumes for films like Mera Dil Leke Dekho in 2005,and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week 2008and then again in Lakme Fashion Week 2009.
She made her acting debut in the 2010 film Dabangg, in which she starred opposite Salman Khan. The film went on to become the highest grossing film of 2010, and ultimately emerged as an all-time blockbuster.Sinha had to lose 30 kg in preparation for the role as a village girl.Her performance was well received, with noted critic Taran Adarsh noting that "Sonakshi Sinha looks fresh, acts confidently and pairs off very well with Salman. Sinha has also shot for a music video with Yo Yo Honey Singh. In July, Sinha jointly bought a team in the 'World Kabaddi League'.

Chopra initially aspired to pursue a career in investment banking, but after obtaining a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School she returned to India during the 2009 economic recession and joined Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant. Later, she signed a three-film deal with the company as an actress.

Early life

Chopra obtained a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School.Chopra was born on 22 October 1988 in Ambala, Haryana into a Punjabi family.Her father, Pawan Chopra, is a businessman and supplier to the Indian Army at Ambala Cantonment and her mother is Reena Chopra. She has two brothers: Shivang and Saraj; actress Priyanka Chopra, Meera Chopra and Barbie Handa are her cousins.Chopra received her early education at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Ambala Cantonment.In an Interview published in The Hindu, she revealed that she was a very good student and had always wanted to become an investment banker.At the age of 17, Chopra moved to London, where she received a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom.

In 2009 she returned to India in the wake of the economic recession and moved to Mumbai to stay with her cousin, Priyanka. During a visit to Yash Raj Films studio, Priyanka (who was shooting for Pyaar Impossible!) introduced Parineeti to the head of the public relations team of the company. Chopra obtained an internship in the marketing department, joining the production company as a public-relations consultant. She considered it a perfect job, because she could use what she had learned and work in films. Ironically, Chopra had disliked actors and acting; to her, the profession seemed like an excuse to wear too much makeup. While working and observing actors, however, her perception changed. She realised that she never understood acting and her respect for the profession increased.



Acting career

Film director Maneesh Sharma suggested signing Chopra to Aditya Chopra, vice-president of Yash Raj Films. Appalled by the idea of recruiting someone from his marketing team as an actress, the vice-president refused. When Parineeti Chopra told Sharma she was leaving her job to attend acting school he advised her to meet the company's casting director,who asked her to do a "dummy audition for fun". Chopra remembered "fooling around with a camera" and delivering lines by the character Geet from the film Jab We Met, never expecting producer Aditya Chopra to see the tape. However, when the producer saw the tape he was impressed with her acting. With Sharma describing her "phenomenal" in the screen test,Chopra was signed to a three-film deal Chopra's colleagues later told her she was a "misfit in an office situation".

Chopra's second release, and her first lead role, was Habib Faisal's romantic drama Ishaqzaade with Arjun Kapoor. The film revolves around two political families, whose rivalry (and mutual hatred) go back generations. Chopra played the boisterous and feisty tomboy Zoya, a Muslim girl who marries a Hindu boy and gives birth to new rivalry in both families. The film received positive reviews from critics, and Chopra earned critical acclaim for her performance.Taran Adarsh observed, "Parineeti Chopra is simply fantastic in this high-voltage drama. Playing the part of a spirited gun-toting girl, she is not the regular timid, decorous, withdrawn Hindi film heroine. She portrays the violent behavior coupled with the audacious and brash attitude with aplomb"and Reviewer Mrigank Dhaniwala of Koimoi added that "Parineeti Chopra, whom we loved in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, shines again in a complex and intense role. She looks very good and acts like a song. Arjun and Parineeti’s on-screen chemistry and excellent performances are the highlights of the film."Film critic Rajeev Masand lebelled her the "biggest strength of the film".The film grossed over INR46 crore (US$7.5 million) at the domestic box office, and was credited as a super hit.Chopra earned a National Film Award – Special Mention at the 60th National Film Awards, receiving her first nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, Screen and Apsara awards.As of September 2014, Chopra has several projects in various stages of production. She has completed Shaad Ali's Kill Dil, with Ranveer Singh and Ali Zafar, describing it as the first "glamorous" role of her career.She has signed Illuminati Films's next production to be directed by Dinesh Vijan alongside Saif Ali Khan.
